MY

PHOTOGRAPHY

STORY

To start I would like to share that I have an amazing support system, My husband and our 4 children who help to make my dreams reality. They provide me support by helping set up for mini sessions or occasionally stepping in to be an assistant, and sometimes packing and unpacking my car time and time again, or hugging me tight after a long day of wedding portraits.

The emotional support I get from them is so heartfelt. They don't realize their impact just by telling me I am doing a good job, or "mommy your pictures are beautiful" and recognizing the hard work that goes into portraiture, showing how much they love me and always supporting what I am doing.

Nothing beats them telling their friends that their mom is a photographer,

treating it almost as if I were some sort of super hero.

My family is always curious what I will come up with next.

I fell in love with photography 20 years or so ago when we moved next door to a small farm with horses... I could never get enough of their eyes, it was like you could see the gentleness of their souls and I wanted to be able to capture that in a photo. That is where the passion started, however I was a growing teenager so the time for hobbies came and went and came again, as I got older it was about taking pictures of my children and my own pets. I had a camera on almost every adventure my friends, family, and I went on together.

I have learned photos have a story and always make you feel some sort of emotion.

My goals are always growing and I want to be able to share images with powerful emotions, depicting stories my clients love.

I mentioned before that I believe photography is an art.

Its just as individualized and unique as the person expressing it in their own form.

In my personal experience I feel I am really bringing my images to life when my clients feel like I'm in total control of the situation, and they are freely comfortable with what we are doing, our surroundings, and knowing there is a trust between us that I will be able to provide them with memories of those moments...

Learning photography has been an amazing journey in which I have had the ability to learn about lighting, posing, and creating an environment with your clients that keeps them coming back. I will always keep learning new techniques and

so many other aspects of photography.

It hasn't been an easy journey, I thought that a business would take right off and everyone would want to fill up my portfolio with free sessions and fun...That wasn't exactly the case but what I did learn was It takes time and dedication to persevere through the hard times. There have been many times I have wanted to give up for some reason or another. Whether it was editing, lighting, or not being able to bring my vision to life. It can all be very frustrating, but I just keep pushing and trying new things, while in the process I am able to teach my children how they can persevere and never give up on dreams no matter how far out of reach they seem at times.

I love being able to capture moments before they're gone.

Photography has brought me wanderlust, now I crave the urge to embark on adventures that make my soul feel wildly free.

One day I hope big portrait companies talk about my images..
